![]() Could it be that it's not getting enough power or something? And the reason I ask that is because when the first starter was going out, the last time I got it to crank by turning the key I drove it to Walmart (about 3 miles one way) and back. I've taken it off the car and bench tested it, and the Bendix does kick out. When the starter is on my car it will spin but it will not kick out. And if they are the same then what could be making my car not start after all of the starters, I put on do the exact same thing? So, my question is, are the starters all the same for all three engine models or is there a difference? I know they only made the SS's with 2.4 for only a few years. It will spin over but it's not kicking out to engage and start. After two more starters the last one being brand new is still doing the same thing. So, I called the parts store he told me to bring it back and at that time I told him that I did not have a 2.0 l that my car actually had a 2.4 and he told me that the 2.0, 2.2 and the 2.4 starters were all the same. I looked up the van online and it said I had a 2.4. Get home put it on and when I turn it over the starter will spin but don't kick out and engage to start. At that time, I was told by a friend my car has a 2.0 L so I order a starter for that size engine. My starter went out, so I called the parts store and ordered one.
