![]() Just have one, but can compare with the Pentax SMC-M 50/1.7 Heck, you might even come across some brick wall samples Many images are labelled with the lens used to create them. So, if one values just sharpness maybe look at other lenses if after quality construction, ditto but if the goal is that particular look in images that other more modern lenses can't match exactly, look at samples (Flickr) where one might find what he/she likes. The clunkiest and most rattly is the 44-4 I have but that is probably abuse from the previous owner. But if one is after sharpness, I find that the copy I have of the 44-7 is best there. I value "render of the image" which incidentally is not quantifiable and I have to say the 44-2 pleases me best there. ![]() ![]() Some value sharpness (I don't call it IQ because quality is something else for me), some value construction, some value bokeh and some even looks of the lens itself. Well maybe not as far as that, but you get my drift. Note that micro4/3 probably has very different performance, partly due to the smaller sensor, but also due to the thicker sensor cover glass.Īt least you are aware ( I hope) that there is more than one way of measuring "best". Keep in mind I've used these on APS-C and FF, where all three are "A" for IQ on both formats and "B" for build quality. The bokeh are not great, showing some bright line artifacts as well as FF vignetting and swirl (which these lenses are known for). Rendering in general is very typical USSR/Zeiss and build is unfortunately very Soviet (solid, but crudely finished), with good color and decent resolution. ![]() They are all similar, but the 44M-7 is slightly better. The 44M-7 came to me with an oily fingerprint on the element next to the oily aperture iris (which I cleaned). It's nearly flat, so idiots often reassemble the lens after cleaning with it accidentally flipped. If yours is really bad, check that the rear element isn't flipped. The sample variation on the Helios lenses is HUGE, so YMMV. I now have a growing collection of Helios lenses including 44-2, 44-3, 44M, 44M-4, 44M-5, 44M-7. I don't suppose my measure of 'best' is quite what you're looking for but I thought I'd share my thoughts anyway The bokeh is very smooth (or swirly in the right conditions), I like quite like the wacky flare it can produce and it is plenty sharp enough for the majority of my shooting. For the type of shots I often take, 13 aperture blades mean I can shoot at any aperture without having to think about hexagons or octagons showing in the background. No question, my scratched and rough M39 silver 44.īut it's got nothing to do with sharpness. What do you think? Which Helios-44 is your "best"? I know that performance could vary from copy to copy, but I really was expecting more from the 44M-5 and 44M-7. I often use the 44-2 which is the oldest and a preset lens, but I also like the 44M-4. I was expecting that the "best" of these lenses would be the 44M-7 in terms of resolution and sharpness, but I did a few tests and I am not sure. I am sure this has been discussed before, but as I now have a growing collection of Helios lenses including 44-2, 44-3, 44M, 44M-4, 44M-5, 44M-7 I thought I could ask anyway. ![]() It was the deadliest tornado in Missouri history, as well as the first single tornado since the 1953 Flint–Beecher tornado in Michigan to cause more than 100 fatalities. tornado since the ApF5 tornado in Woodward, Oklahoma, and the seventh-deadliest in U.S. The Joplin tornado ranks as one of the United States' deadliest tornadoes: it was the deadliest U.S. Overall, the tornado killed 158 people (with an additional eight indirect deaths), and injured some 1,150 others. There were also over 1,000 reported injuries directly associated with the tornado. The deadliest tornado was the Tri-State tornado on March 18, 1925. The EF-5 tornado that ripped through the Joplin community claimed the lives of 158 people, making it the seventh-deadliest tornado in U.S. It was in the locations where the most intense winds occurred, that buildings were destroyed and metal beams were bent and twisted. The weather set up set the stage for a very active day for that region, as the environment was primed for severe storm development. The EF-5 tornado produced winds over 200 mph, bending and twisting metal, leveling buildings and piling cars on top of each other. I did send the whipped potatoes back because they were cold and hard, and they replaced with the fingerlings.very good! Filet was cooked rare and was good but the lobster butter never melted. I ate the beans because I didn't want to wait for replacement sprouts. We loved Aladdin's Eatery and will definitely be back. Aladdin's also has a nice selection of desserts, some of which are vegan/gluten-free. As a side note, I visited the restroom here and it was clean and surprisingly pretty and well-decorated. My husband loved the falafel and said he could've eaten two more orders. The cauliflower pita was my favorite-and as an extreme olive lover, I appreciated the olive garnishes on everything. The food was delicious, and considering the $5 price tag I expected the wrapped pita to be smaller than it was. Prices are decent, especially considering you can try multiple things and get smalls (about $5 each) to make a little meal. ![]() ![]() The whole menu is extremely welcoming to those with diet restrictions, and everything is marked (vegan, gluten-free, nut allergen, vegetarian). " The Purple People Eater" / "I Can't Believe You're Mine" "I Found Me an Angel" / "So Close to Heaven" The most fundamental – and thus first – design question was: What shape should form the tent’s base? Most trekking pole supported tents are based around hexagons or even more complicated shapes, but as the number of sides increases, so does pitching complexity, number of seams, stakes, and weight. The goal with the X-Mid was to start with a clean sheet of paper and reason from there to create the optimal trekking pole supported shelter – one that offers maximal functionality, space, storm resistance, and simplicity at the lowest weight. While the X-Mid 2 has a higher cost of production than comparable tents, it is priced lower simply because we sell it to you direct with only a modest markup. We’re not aware of a competing trekking pole tent with that same quality. ![]() It is assembled at arguably the best tent factory in the world using premium components, laser cut fabric panels, factory seam taping, full double stitching, and double folded edges. The X-Mid also boasts the highest quality. Setup is a stark contrast to other trekking pole tents that require numerous stakes, guylines, and struts en route to a pitching process filled with measuring and guesswork. The rectangle based X-Mid has an ultra-simple pitch that goes up quickly with only 4 required stakes, no mandatory guylines, and nothing to measure. The X-Mid 2 also provides a superior user experience with an obsessive attention to detail, such as one-handed operating zippers and large doorways that aren’t blocked by the trekking poles. Those attributes combined with a spacious interior and generous vestibules make the X-Mid the ideal place to ride out a storm. The X-Mid TM 2 provides a spacious, user friendly, and stormworthy shelter for just over 2 lbs (1 kg). In wet conditions, no other tent can boast the X-Mid’s comprehensive defenses of a fly first pitch, no-sag fabric, large adjustable vents, factory seam taping, protected entryways, full coverage fly (to block rain splatter and drafts), and double-wall protection. It has also been redesigned into a second generation version that has a smaller footprint, less weight, and a tighter pitch while remaining just as spacious. ![]() ![]() This innovative and patented geometry makes the X-Mid 2 exceptionally capable, spacious, and stormworthy at the lowest weight – anything lighter is smaller, lower function, and/or using less durable materials.
